President’s Award

My thought in creating this blog was to provide an insider’s perspective into the life of a Vision Therapist.  Helping people succeed is dear to my heart, and sharing it seemed like the natural next step.  Morgan If you’ll permit me to deviate from that plan this morning, something closer to my heart is in the forefront.  In attending my daughter’s 5th grade graduation this morning, I was proud and humbled to learn that Morgan received the President’s Award for outstanding achievement in her elementary school education. She is pictured here, the shortest girl on stage, fourth from the left.  My friends, this morning I am proud beyond words, and marveled at how this little seed has blossomed into such an amazing young woman. She and my son are definitely my pride and joy!

I copied this excerpt from the U.S. Department of Education website explaining the President’s Award.

THE PRESIDENT’S EDUCATION AWARDS PROGRAM
RECOGNIZING STUDENT ACHIEVMENT AND HARD WORK SINCE 1983

Founded in 1983, the President’s Education Awards Program (PEAP) honors graduating elementary, middle and high school students for their achievement and hard work. The program has provided individual recognition from the President and the U.S. Secretary of Education to those students whose outstanding efforts have enabled them to meet challenging standards of excellence. Each year, thousands of elementary, middle, and high schools participate by recognizing deserving students.
