About Me

A Little Bit About Me

Hello! I’m Robert — lifelong Vision Therapist, golf escapee, and a dedicated student of how the visual system shapes the way we move, learn, and experience the world. My journey into Vision Therapy started back in 1999 as a Sports Vision patient trying to shave a few strokes off my game. Instead, I accidentally discovered a career. (Honestly, probably for the best — golf and I had a complicated relationship.)

I became a Vision Therapist later that year and have spent more than 25 years in therapy rooms across the country, from San Diego, to multiple areas in Texas, to Chattanooga, to the Bay Area. Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of learning from some of the greatest minds in the profession — the kind of people whose brains make you say, “Ah, so THAT’S how vision works.”

I earned my COVT in 2008 and was honored as the Certified Optometric Vision Therapist of the Year in 2013. I’ve collaborated with P.A.V.E., written and presented on topics like Primitive Reflexes, Treatment Strategies, Traumatic Brain Injury, Improving Patient Communication, and I’ve presented internationally to colleagues across the globe — an honor I still don’t take for granted.

These days, I serve as the Director of Vision Therapy at the Optometric Center for Family Vision Care and Vision Therapy in San Carlos, California — which is especially meaningful because it’s where I first started way back when! After spending years working and learning in San Diego, multiple stops in Texas, and Chattanooga, it feels good to come full circle and continue helping patients and supporting therapists in the very place where my journey began.
